Currently located in Paris' 9th arrondissement, The Théâtre Mogador is not too far from what Parisians call the ‘Grands Boulevards’, which refers to the very long stretch of road going from Republique square to Madeleine square. This ‘Grands Boulevards’ area is renowned for having a theatre on almost every corner, making it the Parisian equivalent of Broadway in New York City, or the West End in London.
Théâtre Mogador is an English style theatre and was founded in 1913. It was designed by Bertie Crewe, one of the leading English theatre architects during the boom of the early 20th Century. It’s a Parisian music hall which seats 1,800 people on three tiers. The theatre is both visually and historically rich, having hosted many productions similar to Grease the Musical.
Théâtre Mogador was originally named “Palace Theatre” in hopes to appeal to British soldiers during WWI. From its inauguration, the theatre has always been passionately dedicated to musical performances, hosting operattes until the the 1970s.One of the most famous performers at Mogador was Mistinguett, the highest paid female artist of the 'annees folles'. The Théâtre Mogador became an internationally renowned hall for its performers and productions.
Starting in the 80s, Mogador decided to be entirely dedicated to hosting musicals. Some of the big shows performed here include Cabaret, Les Miz, Notre Dame de Paris, Lion King, Cats, etc. It would make sense, then, that Grease the Musical with English Subtitles would be hosted here, in an internationally famous venue, committed exclusively to hosting the best musical productions. Ticket sales for Grease the Musical are now open with Theatre in Paris, and they're selling out fast! Don't miss out on your chance to see Grease à la parisienne!
