Highlights: Chicago, The Musical

This iconic Broadway classic will take you on a scandalously chic musical journey in one of Paris’ most iconic venues, famous for its Broadway-style musical productions. With jazzy musical numbers and choreography reminiscent of Paris' music halls, Chicago perfectly combines the Parisian cabaret and prohibition nightlife atmospheres, an irresistibly Parisian night out.

Story: Chicago, The Musical

Parisian cabaret nightlife has nothing on the scandalous 1920s Chicago jazz scene! Be transported back to the Windy City in the roaring twenties, when cabaret singer Roxie is sent to prison for killing her lover. Incarcerated in the height of prohibition era, Roxie meets her idol Velma, both fellow murderess and jazz singer. The pair join forces with the coniving lawyer Billy Flynn and quickly plot to regain their freedom and rise to fame in the Chicago underground. Roxie and Velma are a double act of criminals and corruption, and all that jazz. Embark on an adventure as two vixens navigate tabloids and legal loopholes, all in the name of love and music. Celebrity, scandal, crime, and most of all music is at the heart of this spectacular show. The murderous duo that has delighted audiences and inspired an award-winning film finally reaches one of the most famous stages in the City of Lights, a must-see hit!

Broadway is in Paris!

A breathtaking show, precise choreography and perfect acting. Special mention goes to Sofia Essaidi, who is remarkable as Velma Kelly and completely in her element. She excels in everything she does: singing, dancing and acting.

The show lasts two hours and forty minutes, including one intermission.

Is it a show for travellers or French people?

Subtitles or “surtitles”?

Surtitles (also called supertitles) are the theatre equivalent of subtitles. That’s because in French “sur” means “above”. At the Théâtre Mogador, the text is projected on the sides of the auditorium, above the stage. Read more about surtitles here.

Is tipping customary?

Tips are not mandatory in Parisian theatres. However, ushers will usually expect a small tip of between 2€ and 5€, which you can give them when they've shown you to your seat. Fun fact: the French word for “tip” is “pourboire,” which literally translates to “to have a drink.”
