In a town called Cambo les Bains, deep in the heart of France's Basque country, is a gorgeous little villa that simply oozes culture and history, all the while attracting tourists from all over Europe. This villa is called Arnaga, and is a significant demure for theatregoers, history buffs, and francophiles alike. Surrounding the villa is an immaculate "French style" garden of more than 15 hectares.
Clearly, the Villa is a stunning place, and for that reason alone, worth a trip to Basque country. But what is the cultural significance?
This amazing place was the dwelling other than Edmond Rostand, the famous poet and author of Cyrano de Bergerac. Rostand's artistic side is evident in the intricate architecture.
If you are travelling to the South of France any time soon, the Villa is a must-see. There, you'll also find an Edmond Rostand museum, where you can find out everything you need to know about the famous French writer whose works have essentially taken over the world.
Meanwhile, if you are in the City of Lights this year, Cyrano de Bergerac is back by popular demand in theatres in Paris! Make sure to see the ever popular performance while you can!
