Highlights: Ce qui nous traverse by Nawal Aït Benalla

Autumn is starting on a promising note at the Théâtre Silvia Monfort with Ce qui nous traverse, a contemporary dance piece by Nawal Aït Benalla, presented from 15 to 18 October 2025 in the Grande Salle.

This creation, co-produced by the dance company La Baraka, brings together five performers – Elie Fico, Alba Fracchia, Marion Frappat, Alfredo Gottardi and Rachele Pinzan – in a choreographic composition that is both metronomic, repetitive and ritualistic, oscillating between restrained trance and vigorous surges of life.

Nawal Aït Benalla questions our relationship with the body in the era of artificial intelligence and the fragmentation of the shared world. She explores how, in the future, our bodies might still bring us together “without instructions, without distinction of class, culture, or education”. On stage, bodies shift between resistant slowness and expressive intensity, weaving a silent yet tangible connection between the performers, like a vibrant transformation before our eyes.

The music, composed and arranged by Olivier Innocenti and enriched with passages by Samuel Barber, accompanies this organic transformation, while Laïs Foulc shapes the lighting design, highlighting the gesture’s pulsations. Emphasising the emancipatory and resistant power of the body – a theme dear to the Franco-Moroccan choreographer.

Ce qui nous traverse promises to be a show of great intensity, a powerful reflection on the coexistence of body and technology.
