Highlights: Resiste

The scene is set at Lola’s Club, a nightclub run by Maggie, her father and her younger sister Mandoline. Together, the trio are working hard to save the family business from bankruptcy. Despite the venue’s problems, young ‘night owls’ still meet regularly on the dance floor at Lola’s to dance and sing the night away.

Together with Tennessee, the little clan’s adopted son, and Angelina, Maggie’s best friend, as well as the pianist, Mathis, they will try to save this magical place. But one evening, a sudden tragic event means it’s time to think again. This drama pushes Maggie to take her destiny into her own hands, encourages her to follow her dreams and open her heart.

Story: Resiste

A completely new production, 'Résiste' is a spectacular celebration of a figure central to French music culture. Michel Berger was a beloved singer songwriter who died unexpectedly in 1992, and now his wife France Gall – also a famed music artist - has written a musical in his honour.

In 1981, Michel Berger composed the melody and words of ‘Résiste’, a song which encourages young people to make choices, and prompts them not to follow the well worn path but to go in search of happiness. Sung by his wife France Gall, it quickly became a big hit, with the album selling 850,000 copies.

Inspired by 'Mamma Mia!' and its integration of the works of ABBA, France Gall has now written a moving story around her late husband’s most well known tracks. A cast of ten talented actors and singers bring Berger’s musical genius to life on stage at the grand Palais des Sports.

Cleverly mixing modern popular entertainment with French musical heritage, ‘Résiste’ is an uplifting show about pushing boundaries and striving for
