Story: Les Idoles

Written and directed by Christophe Honoré, Les Idoles is a poignant tribute to six remarkable artistic and intellectual figures who shaped Honoré’s youth and tragically lost their lives to AIDS. The play, staged at the Théâtre de la Porte Saint-Martin, honors the legacies of Cyril Collard, Serge Daney, Jacques Demy, Hervé Guibert, Bernard-Marie Koltès, and Jean-Luc Lagarce.

In this heartfelt drama, Honoré explores how these influential artists grappled with the dual forces of desire and death, offering a reflection on the 'dark and terrifying years' of the AIDS epidemic. At its core, the play poses a deeply moving question: 'How do you dance after such loss?'

The exceptional cast features Harrison Arévalo, Jean-Charles Clichet, Marina Foïs, Julien Honoré, Paul Kircher, and Marlène Saldana, with Marina Foïs taking on the poignant role of Hervé Guibert.

A truly powerful and thought-provoking theatrical experience!
