With the Latin motto, Fluctuat nec mergitur, literally meaning "Tossed by waves but never sunken", it's clear how strong and timeless Paris is. Made up of 6,100 rues, or streets, the 4th largest metro system in the world, 173 museums and 1,803 monuments, 470,000 trees (yes, they keep count of the trees), 450 parks and gardens, and the most libraries in the world (830 to be exact), there's something for everyone in the City of Lights. From incredible intellectuals such as Ernest Hemingway and F. Scott Fitzgerald to leaders and philosophers such as Thomas Jefferson and Friedrich Nietzsche, the city's magnificence has been long talked about.
We picked our 10 favorite quotes that prove Paris is, without a doubt, the best city in the world, but first,
