HIGHLIGHTS: KILL ME

Look out, the very first shows of the new season at Théâtre du Rond-Point are shaping up to be strong ones... very strong ones indeed.
The theatre, located on the very chic Avenue des Champs-Élysées, brings you Kill Me, a very surprising dance show by Argentinian choreographer and performer Marina Otero.

Kill Me is the third part of the artist's “Recordar para vivir” project. This contemporary dance performance is part of a deeply introspective and autobiographical artistic approach that is characteristic of Otero's work. Kill Me explores the themes of memory, resilience and survival through a bold and truly emotionally charged staging.

In Kill Me, Otero continues her exploration of human vulnerability and fragility, accompanied by four mentally ill dancers and a Nijinsky double. The performance is built around personal memories and intimate experiences, which the artist revisits and recontextualises on stage. Dance becomes a powerful means of expressing complex and often painful emotions.

The movements are intense, sometimes abrupt, reflecting the artist's inner struggle and search for meaning.

Kill Me stands out for its raw sincerity and unconventional approach. Otero is not afraid to confront difficult subjects to create an authentic and deeply personal work. The show invites audiences to reflect on memory, trauma and the power of art to transform and heal.

Please note that this show is recommended for ages 16 and upwards, as it includes many scenes of full nudity.

History and Fun Facts about Théâtre du Rond-Point

If you ever want to feel the pulse of the French theatre scene, the Théâtre du Rond-Point is the place to be! But which roundabout or "rond-point" is it exactly? It's one of the most famous roundabouts in Paris, located near the Champs-Elysées, smaller than the famous Etoile roundabout under the Arc de Triomphe. Since 1981, it has attracted a host of directors from all over the world and a host of people with a passion for theatre. A major venue for contemporary creation since 1991, the Rond-Point does not programme "what people like, but what they don't yet know they like", according to Jean-Michel Ribes, the theatre's former director. Since 2023, Laurence de Magalhaes and Stéphane Ricordel have taken over the reins of this theatre, which is still rooted in contemporary creation and focuses on living authors.
