It’s officially been 10 weeks in lockdown, and while restrictions in Paris are lifting, it’s still important to stay indoors as much as possible for the safety of ourselves and of others. That’s why we’re grateful that the theatre industry is continuing to provide us with daily entertainment, helping us pass the time  and raring us up for all of the live theatre to come! Here’s an update of our favourite theatre moments of the week.

The Molières

The Molière awards nominations certainly made for an exciting week for us, and we’re proud to report that several of our partner shows were nominated. Check out our friends at Dom Juan announcing the exciting news via their Facebook page here!

We’re also pleased to say that the following of our partner shows were also nominated for Molières: I Want You, Frou Frou, Crazy Horse. Be sure to keep your eyes peeled for tickets to see these shows in Paris next season.

Streaming

The world of theatre streaming also delivered this week, one of our favourite developments being the National Theatre making their production of Tennesee Williams’ A Streetcar Named Desire available for streaming on their YouTube channel. Give it a watch here!

Additionally, The Globe’s 2018 production of A Winter’s Tale is also available for streaming on YouTube until the end of the month, you don’t want to miss catching a glimpse of this Shakespearian classic.

If music is more your cup of tea, France’s National Orchestra have published their Third Concert with Valse N#2 to YouTube, yet another performance we thoroughly enjoyed this week. Have a look for yourself!

If you’re after something a little more interactive, the Opéra de Paris has given the public access to dance classes with an Etoile dancer of your choice. Put a spring in your step this May and get moving, you’ll thank us later!

Blog

As well as our Molières blog post, this week we’ve published a list detailing our favourite French movie musicals of all time, check it out here if you’re looking for some inspiration!
